Our group of architecture fans and aficionados, affectionately known as Dilbeckians, is fascinated by and passionate about the masterful and magical architecture of the legendary, twentieth-century regional architect Charles Stevens Dilbeck.
Our goal is to introduce and share with as many people as possible the charming, quirky and whimsical world of architecture that Dilbeck created during his forty-plus year career, working throughout Texas and the Southwest.
We are united in our aim to promote and preserve Dilbeck’s legacy—everything from helping Dilbeck homeowners learn how to restore and preserve their homes, to promoting scholarly research about Dilbeck’s work, to organizing educational programs and outings where we can experience the delight of Dilbeck firsthand.
We enthusiastically invite one and all to join us in our adventure in a world of singularly unique architecture—architecture that is not cold and sleek, but rather like a comfy chair that feels right and good—that in the words of Dibeck himself, says
"Welcome, come in. Sit down—I hope you enjoy yourself while you are here." —Charles Stevens Dilbeck, 1979
